Consideration was given to objective data based upon U.S. Census Bureau statistics for cities with a population under 100,000. The magazine scored these cities in the categories of educational outcome, average work commute time, median household income, home ownership, and housing affordability.
And Forbes isn’t the only Top Small City list that Auburn shows up on. California-based fiscal advisory website NerdWallet. ranked Auburn the No. 1 “Best Place for Small Businesses in the Northeast,” and “14th Best Small City to Live in the US.”
